The brothers

I have only made one written post so far but feel the need to do so with this powerful image and its presentation here.

I am an African American and sometimes in the African diaspora we are looked at strangely when we reappropiate our visions of our own people. It is as if we are white Americans rocking braids and tanning on a trip back home and that shit is so weird to me.

I am neither glamorizing nor fetishizing an image deemed by western media to be whatever the hell  racist hyper violent imagery they want to make of a group of black men with weapons.

I am showing an extension of myself. I personally look like the brothers in the picture and I see me in them.

Fuck white supremacy and all it continues to do to our thinking. I am free and this represents the brothers going for their freedom.
